Iron Maiden - Aces High

Bom dia!

Hoje a banda escolhida é aquela que foi a "iniciação" de muitos no metal. Não foi o meu caso específico por ter conhecido esses estilos por outra via, mas mesmo assim é inegável a fama e popularidade dessa banda cujo nome remonta a um antigo instrumento de tortura e execução (dependendo de como e onde se colocavam os espinhos).

Muitos podem não saber, mas essa não foi o primeiro grupo a portar o nome "Iron Maiden". Uma outra banda teve esse nome antes deles, mas, além de não fazerem muito sucesso, o estilo é totalmente diverso (o que não quer dizer que seja ruim).

A música escolhida é Aces High do álbum Powerslave. Ela é tão boa quanto Run to the Hills e outras de sua imensa discografia. Uma das coisas que acho mais engraçado em quase todos os clipes que os mostram tocando é a cara alegre do baterista enquanto faz suas viradas. Boa parte dos bateristas faz caretas ou ao menos demonstram alguma coisa do esforço que se empenha para tocar (entre os quais eu me incluo), mas ele não. O clipe mais óbvio disso é o de Run to the Hills, mas isso não vem ao caso. Nicko McBrian (o baterista em questão), para estranheza de alguns, converteu-se ao cristianismo em 1999.

A letra de Aces High não é lá tão interessante, mas a música é forte e intensa. Vale a ouvida com toda certeza. O video que escolhi também é muito bem editado. Espero que aproveitem.
